Live & Broadcast Show
Creative / Production
The Xbox Series X launch was a global event, with viewers in 40 countries. The event brought gamers and the Xbox team together to celebrate and play on the just launched consoles. The livestream, which was broadcast on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, included the first look at the new consoles, news of next-generation games, community highlights, and exclusive products and free gear drops.
The Internal Employee Broadcast was a great opportunity for the employees to celebrate their hard work, talk about how gaming has impacted their lives, and see their talents contribute to the lives of gamers worldwide.
Working with the LA based director and Xbox team we created a studio environment that worked for the myriad of dynamic camera angles they were going for as well as the virtual overlays they created. Building upon the looks we designed for their July Gaming Showcase, we transformed their corporate lobby into a vibrant studio environment and influenced the overall feel of the branding and visual language.
In addition, we designed, produced, and broadcasted the employee pre- and post-launch celebration events. Working simultaneously with the main launch but at a separate location on campus, we created an additional broadcast set and worked with the Microsoft team to curate 90 minutes of content featuring a combination of both prerecorded and live studio elements, including a pre shoot for a surprise heartwarming video of the new console being given to three lucky kids from the Boys and Girls Club. From multiple hosts on set to live game play, prerecorded videos, and a live interview with Trevor Noah, the broadcast to celebrate all the hard work the team put in getting to launch, was put together from concept to completion in about two weeks.
